Lauren received the LSU Discover Research Grant this past January. She received funding for her research on opioid addiction and presented her findings at LSU's annual Discover Day undergraduate research symposium!
Her team built a predictive model to judge the likelihood that a person will misuse prescription opioids in an attempt to combat an American crisis that takes thousands of lives every year. After presenting her paper at the Discover Day research symposium her team's paper was chosen as one of the top 8 in the country!
We are so proud of Lauren and can't wait to see what she does in the future with her research!

Junior member, Cheyenne Fouts, is an avid supporter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In early April she was able to attend a suicide advocacy day at the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge. During her day at the capitol she was able to speak with Louisiana Governor, John Bel Edwards, about legislation for suicide prevention. Cheyenne started her foundation, Hope for Haley, when she lost her sister in 2012. Through her efforts she hopes to bring awareness to the cause and break the stigma surrounding it. We are so proud of Cheyenne for bringing awareness to suicide prevention and serving our country through the U.S Army!
